“For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13
We all are engaged in a work; whether you’re a top executive officer or an artist, a physician or a stay-at-home parent, we all have an important role to play in this world. In the Biblical point of view, we should understand that our work is not as how the world defines it. Of course we earn an income out of our jobs, which is beneficial, but the purpose of work for a believer has a deeper and more significant meaning.
We often get it wrong in Christianity by segregating some work as secular and some sacred. But God’s purpose and plan for each individual is unique. And everything was created by God and He’s still at work, He’s still behind each and every invention today. The entire existence is His creation, His purpose, and His work. And in whatever work we are involved with, it is the opportunity given by God to join Him in His work. We don’t work for our bosses or clients, but it’s God given assignment to us. An assignment to be a witness for His salvation. At the end of the day, we should all examine whether we have done more of God’s work or of our own.
And moreover God places us in certain positions and organizations for not only working through us, but also for working in us. Yes, God’s purpose for our work is also to relate and interact with us and to make us more like Him. He is grooming us and He’s patient with us just like a Father with a toddler trying to help him, so that His work in us is done to perfection while He accomplishes His purpose in the world. So let us always be conscious about God’s work in us, while we are at work; and let all that we accomplish in this world bring glory to Him alone. Amen!

Blessed!!!
