“But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.” Romans 8:25.
We all expect God to answer all our prayers at the moment we petition Him. This expectation is birthed in a self-centered heart where our needs are our only priority. Often we experience disappointment. Sometimes we doubt the presence of God in our lives when things don’t happen the way we wanted it to. But sometimes God has other plans for us. In Isaiah 55:8 God says, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways.”
God’s timing is always perfectly perfect. God has set a time and a season for everything. It might be overwhelming for us to wait and trust in God, when nothing seems to happen in our lives. Waiting is hard. But God is never too late nor too early. He leads us through certain path to equip us and to test our faith in Him. It’s always easy to praise God when we receive blessings from Him, but it’s hard to be grateful to Him during hard times. Our situations in this world might change now and then, but our God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. When we go through a season of waiting, it’s high time to lean onto God like never before. We need to be patient and still thank Him and praise Him for who He is. He is the Alpha and the Omega. We know that our God works all things for our good according to His purpose. He has called us and chose us with a great purpose and plan. So let’s hold onto hope even in our dark times, because Jesus is our light and He never fails us.
In all our situations let our hearts be filled with praise and thanksgiving. Instead of focusing on the things yet to happen, let our eyes be opened to see all the blessings that already surround us. “They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31. Amen!
