“God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among the nations.” Psalms 67:1,2.
God is merciful and His nature is to bless. We all need God’s blessings in our lives. However, we need to understand that God’s purpose in blessing us encompasses more than just our happiness and prosperity. In the above read scripture, the reason the psalmist asked for God’s blessings and mercy wasn’t for a selfish reason. He asked for the sake of God’s glory, that His way be made known.
Many times we seek God for His blessings upon us and our family. When we receive them, we are content with it and thank God and move on. But it’s never the Lord’s intention for His blessings to end with us. Rather, He wants them to flow out from us to others. By doing so, we proclaim the name of the Lord and make His salvation known to the world. God always works on a larger picture, even when He works on our personal lives. His plans are wide and beyond our human minds. But how do we know His plans? Only with the help of the Holy Spirit, we may know God’s plan and purpose in each and every aspect of our lives. We need to humble ourselves constantly at His feet, so that His will be done in our lives. And when we submit to His plans, we are positioned to be used greatly by Him.
When we receive God’s blessings in our lives, we need to understand that He’s not only doing something for us; He’s also doing something in us and through us for His glory. It’s such a privilege to be used by God for His glory. But we need to completely surrender ourselves to Him, so that our human selfishness be broken and God’s love would flow through us. God wants us to have a selfless heart and His vision with loving kindness to be able to be a blessing to the nations. Let our lives be blessed by God, to be a blessing to many. Amen!

Amen 🙏🏼
