NEVER ALONE!

“They shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, ‘God is with us’.” Matthew 1:23

God is with us! Though we all know these verses, often in days of trouble we don’t really realize it. Many doubt crying, Where is God? Why am I in trouble? Why is God not hearing my prayers? and so on.. We wrongly interpret that: the absence of problems in our lives, is the presence of God. But the Bible doesn’t promise us deliverance from all troubles, but the peace which surpasses all understanding.

When we read the Bible, we come to know that all the saints of God have gone through sufferings and pain. Who did not suffer? But God’s promise says, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” God’s presence with Israel was obvious during their wanderings in the wilderness towards the promised land. The cloud of the Lord was above their tabernacle all day, and the cloud of fire over all night, throughout their journey. They saw the miraculous hand of God which delivered them from Egypt. Yet, at difficult situations due to hunger and thirst, they grumbled against God and said He only delivered them to die in the wilderness.

Sadly, we too complain about things and deny His presence within us. God’s presence is even more intimate than our worldly needs. Unlike the Old Testament days, today we have the Holy Spirit living in us. Hard days may come and go, but our God is always with us no matter how the circumstances seem. God is the controller of the universe; this means that nothing that happens is apart from God’s ultimate purpose. When we take a look at our past, we all would testify that our God has turned everything for our good. Yes, He has! So, let us always confess that God is with us and He is in control of our lives, even in darkest times. May God’s presence give peace in our hearts. Amen!
