“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 16:8
Everyday is different, and there’s no day that’s the same. New day begins with a new set of challenges and trials. Everyday is a chance to begin again. It’s a new start. We all know that ‘well begun is half done.’ Its very important how we start each day of our lives.
As we read each day is different, so is our God’s mercies. Lamentations 3:22 says, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.” How great is His love for us, that He is mindful of us each and every day. Our help comes from the Lord, the maker of the universe. He is our strength. He provides His mercy and grace, that we need for each day. It is an absolute necessity to rely on Him and renew our hearts and minds, and gain His strength to face our day. It’s important to equip and empower us in the Lord’s presence, before we step into the world. Jesus modeled an early morning prayer life. He chose to rise up early, while it was still dark, to have a close communion with the Father and to renew Himself with the Holy Spirit. If Jesus Himself made it a priority in His routine, how much more do we need!
As Christians, we hear the importance of early morning prayers over and over. But at times, we fail to practice it. New day births new beginning, so let us adopt the habit of depending on the Lord our God every single day, and receive His mercy and strength for the day. We cannot exercise with yesterday’s power; we need God to refill our cups each day. We do not know what is at stake, but our salvation is from the Lord. Let us honor our God by giving Him the first hours of our day. Remember, He honors those who honor Him.
