LOST BUT FOUND

“Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!” Luke 15:6

Luke chapter 15 takes us through three stories or parables with a common theme, where it focuses on the ‘one’- lost and then found. And in conclusion of every scenario, there is exuberant joy and celebration over the found. Through these parables, Jesus concludes saying, “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”-Luke15:10. God graciously seeks and saves the lost. We all were once lost, but now found in Christ Jesus.

Through this we understand the love and compassion of our God, for He pursued us, when we were still enemies and far away from Him; from the many nations who are better than ourselves, He chose us to be His very own people and redeemed us by the blood of Jesus Christ. We need to be so grateful to God, each day of our lives, for this wondrous and divine calling on us. The heavens declare the glory of God, and all of His creations, sing praises to His name; yet the Bible records that the heaven rejoices over the ‘found’. Something glorious happens in heaven when each man is saved and repented of his sins and is restored in Christ. How much God is mindful of us! He remembers that we are dust.

This Scripture reminds us of our past(being lost) and God’s love, which came searching for us individually. With this attitude of gratitude, we ought to seek for the lost souls and pronounce the salvation of Christ. We are saved, to lead souls to the grace that found us. Let our lifestyle be a reflection of God’s love, and may we go into the world to bring the lost souls into His flock. We need to saturate the world with the gospel of God’s love. Let us take part, in causing the heaven to rejoice over the souls around us. Amen!
